About Us

The idea behind Peoples Tribute came about in 2004 when Justin, a friend and colleague of artist Allan Storer; married and resigned his job to move to a new post in the USA. When asked if he could prepare a collective message of congratulations and best wishes from himself and his colleagues to send to Peter, Allan soon realised it was not that easy.

“I had worked with Justin for ten years and by the nature of our work in an International College I knew there were a lot of ex students and colleagues, scattered all around the world who would also like to add their messages of goodwill to Justin and Ruth.

It did not take too long before I found it close on impossible to coordinate and collate everyone’s stories and memories of Justin, a popular personality. Everyone wanted to say something! It was impossible to send one card from all of us and likewise if I contacted everyone with an email and asked him or her to send an individual message, the whole thing would become very disorganised.

We wanted to give Justin and Ruth something different with a novelty factor and the tribute idea came to me. ‘ Why not devise a single tribute with individuals contributing their own experiences and memories of Justin including their congratulations to the both on their new life together?’”

Needless to say Justin and Ruth were amazed when they received so many messages all in the singular style of a personal tribute. Allan then had the idea to create an inclusive website with the objective to promote goodwill through appreciative messages between family, friends, colleagues and in fact anyone, anywhere ‘the unsung heroes of every day life”.  The seeds of Peoples Tribute were planted.

“Everyone likes a pat on the back and most of us most of the time deserve one.  In today’s fast world, appreciation is in short supply. Actors and politicians indulge themselves with Baftas Emmys, Oscars and other Honours.  Why not the rest of us?
I hope this site makes life happier for people involved with it.”
